Birdshot Attendance and Payout Promotions PDF Print E-mail

Birdshot already has an attendance promotion. If a player attends all of the BCS tournaments, the player gets a certificate of achievement for perfect attendance.

Birdshot would like to expand this attendance promotion in 2 ways. The first expansion would be to give a special stamped disc to any player that attends all Birdshot tournaments (Minis, unsanctioned full day, and PDGA sanctioned tournaments). The text will be "(Players Name) has perfect attendance at all Birdshot Tournaments. I don't believe that anybody on Birdshot staff has ever accomplished this. There will be a limit of 3 players for the free special stamp disc. If more than 3 players qualify, we will choose the 3 players with the lowest PDGA #. What about the player that attends every Birdshot disc golf event during the calendar year you say. That would be incredibly difficult and we would recommend you attend a Disc Golf Aholics meeting. Seriously, If anybody ever did that, the player would get a special stamp disc plus a bonus free entry to any Birdshot Disc Golf Event in the following calendar year. Let's limit this one to 3 players also with the lowest PDGA #.

The second attendance promotion would be that the player that is the multiple of 1000 to attend a Birdshot disc golf event (tournament, league, Ace Race, etc.) that player will receive a special stamped disc with the following text "(Players Name) is the 4000th player to enter a Birdshot Disc Golf event." 4000 just happens to be the next 1000 coming up.

The payout promotion would be that the player that their entry fee would push the event payout total to an amount that if added to the current grand total will bring the grand total to a multiple of $10,000 to be paid (Am or Pro) at a Birdshot event (tournament, league, Ace Race, etc.) that player will receive a special stamped disc with the following text "(Players Name) pushed the total payout amount for Birdshot Events to over $60,000."  $60,000 just happens to be the next $10,000 coming up.

All the Birdshot Event Statistics are available on the Birdshot website.

Ace Pot Policy PDF Print E-mail
  • An Ace will be defined as having only 1 throw from the teebox into the basket and the disc being removed by the thrower. It will be confirmed by a score of 1 on the scorecard.
  • If a player goes OB and retees from the teebox and puts the disc in the basket, this will not be considered an Ace. An unplayable lie would be another example. Any retee will not be considered an Ace.
  • The Ace Pot will not be paid to a player that hits an Ace during a playoff for 1st place in a division. Playoffs are not recorded on the scorecard and only scores on the scorecard are official for tournament play.
  • The Ace Pot will be capped at $500 and a second Ace pot will be started. If a second ace pot is started at a tournament, then only the $500 Ace Pot will be paid out to the Ace(s).  The second Ace Pot will be available at the next tournament.
  • If playing doubles partners, best shot qualifies as an Ace from the teebox.
  • If playing doubles partners, and one of the players on a team hits an Ace, Birdshot recommends splitting it evenly between the partners, but that is up to the partners how they want to handle the winnings. The Ace Pot will be paid in full to the player that hits the Ace.
  • If playing doubles partners, the Ace Pot is optional for either partner. The player that throws the Ace must have paid into the Ace Pot to be paid.
  • If playing tough shot doubles partners, and one partner hits the Ace,the player that hit the Ace will be paid and the card will mark the Ace, since in tough shot the hole is finished when one of the partners discs goes in the basket.
